Danzhou Project won the First Prize of Hainan Province 2021 Excellent Engineering Survey and Engineering Comprehensive Award Edit Date：2021/09/16

       Recently, the result of Hainan Excellent Engineering Survey and Engineering Industry Award has been released. Danzhou Domestic Waste to Energy Project undertaken by GDE won the first prize of Survey and Engineering Comprehensive Award (Excellent (public) Architectural Design).

       Danzhou Domestic Waste to Energy Project is one of the key construction projects for implementing the central environmental protection supervision in Hainan Province. The total treatment capacity is 1500T /d, including 2×500t/d mechanical furnace incinerator +1×25MW steam turbine generator set. The preliminary design of the project began in November 2019, and the detail design was completed in June 2020. On the basis of summarizing similar projects, the company’s technical team has optimized, innovated and improved the design and has elaborated the general plan with compact building arrangement and comprehensive consideration on the factors such as energy saving, consumption reduction, convenient management etc. for the selection of equipment.

       The project was successfully put into operation on 16th October, 2020. During operation, the drainage effect of leachate from the garbage pit was ideal, with low water content and high calorific value of the incoming garbage, generating 417kW ·h per ton. By using low nitrogen combustion technology, the NOx content at the chimney outlet is reduced to 120mg/Nm3 (24h average), which is far lower than 200mg/Nm3 in Euro 2000.

       This award, organized by Hainan Survey and Engineering Association, is the highest grade honor of the industry. It was an important recognition of the company’s solid waste industry design, and this will encourage the company’s designers to create more high-quality and high-tech engineering projects.
