       Recently, a key milestone was reached in the energy-saving and carbon-reduction project for the 3#, 5#, and 6# steam turbine units of the Thermoelectric Division of Yueyang Forest & Paper Co., Ltd., which is undertaken by GDE as the general contractor. After 62 consecutive days of intensive efforts, the renovation of the 6# steam turbine was successfully completed, with its first test run and grid connection achieving success at the first attempt. This marks the triumphant conclusion of the first unit renovation campaign under this project, laying a solid foundation for subsequent unit renovations.

 Conquering the "Heatwave" and Securing Initial Victory

       Since the kickoff of the renovation project, the Yueyang project team has risen to the severe challenge of prolonged extreme heat. Upholding the spirit of perseverance and collaborative teamwork, they formulated scientific plans, organized work meticulously, coordinated construction and operation management efficiently, and properly addressed complex challenges such as cross-operation of multiple trades. Ultimately, they ensured that the 6# unit achieved the high-standard first-time test run and grid connection as scheduled, setting an industry benchmark by completing the dismantling and installation of the 40MW extraction-backpressure steam turbine in just 62 days.

       Following this renovation, the 6# steam turbine unit has been upgraded from an extraction-condensing turbine to a backpressure turbine, with an annual increase in gas supply capacity of 320,000 tons and an annual carbon emission reduction of approximately 180,000 tons. This not only fully validates the scientific rigor and advancement of the renovation plan but also showcases the exceptional execution capability and professional technical strength of the GDE project team.

 Professional Support and Close Collaboration

       During the project construction, GDE’s leadership attached great importance to the initiative, standing side by side with the frontline team at all times. They made multiple visits to the construction site to provide on-site guidance, conduct precise analysis, and resolve key issues, thereby offering robust organizational and technical support for the successful grid connection of the unit and significantly boosting the morale and confidence of all participants.

       The project team meticulously arranged work plans, formulated startup schemes with due diligence, and maintained close collaboration with the client, supervision units, and other relevant parties. It ensured that personnel deployment, technical measures, and safety supervision were in place throughout the entire process, providing a solid guarantee for the successful grid connection and power generation.

 Building on Success to Scale New Heights

       The successful grid connection of the 6# unit signifies the full launch of subsequent renovation tasks. All members of the project department will continue to uphold the striving spirit of “defying high temperatures and embracing challenges,”and with greater enthusiasm and a more rigorous approach, fully commit themselves to the renovation of the 5# and 3# steam turbine units.
