The Good End Has Eventually Come - Synchronization with Power Grid Has Been Successfully Done for Luanzhou Municipal Solid waste Comprehensive Disposal Project Edit Date：2021/01/15

       As the Spring Festival was about coming, good news was issued from GDE’s EPC project front line. Synchronization with power grid has been successfully done with a single attempt for Luanzhou Municipal Solid waste comprehensive disposal project, which was contracted in EPC by GDE. The goals of synchronization and power generation in the same month and of obtaining the certificate of acceptance issued by the owner were achieved.

       Luanzhou Project is designed to handle 500t /d domestic waste per day, with a 500t /d waste incinerator and a 9MW steam turbine generator set. The designed capacity is 166,700 ton per year. Since the contract was signed on 18th November, 2019, Luanzhou Project Department of GDE has overcome many difficulties caused by COVID-19, such as civil construction lag, equipment delivery delay, and low-temperature commissioning in winter. The whole team positively encountered situations, made careful deployment, and worked overtime. Successively, the key milestones such as waste pit casting, boiler erection, main structure topping out, boiler hydraulic test, steam turbine capping, power forward and reverse transmission, high-temperature baking of furnace blowing pipe, turbine running, etc. were successfully completed. It lasted 13 and a half months and finally synchronization and power generation were accomplished.

       At 10:18 on 15th January, synchronization with power grid has been successfully done with a single attempt for Luanzhou Yaxin Project. Then immediately the performance test phase of “72+24” started. It is the first project to achieve synchronization among the 7 domestic waste to energy projects constructed in Tangshan city and the first project entering the “72+24”performance test among the 42 domestic waste to energy projects constructed in Hebei Province during the same period. On 18th January, with successful completion of the trial operation of “72+24”, the plant was officially put into continuous operation and grid-connected power generation, showing well comprehensive benefits.

       Since its operation, the daily capacity of domestic waste has reached 500 ton, with 4000 MWh power generation within just half a month. Value of output to grid has exceeded 2 million yuan.

       Domestic waste of Luanzhou urban and rural and industrial park waste have been transformed from directly put into landfill to zero landfill harmless treatment, and all domestic waste has been recycled. At the beginning of the New Year, the project has been put into operation smoothly, lighting up thousands of families and warming thousands of people.
